A group of more able pupils from Year 9 visited Swansea University yesterday as part of the school's Masterclass programme.
The pupils enjoyed a tour of the new Bay campus, watched a presentation about Masterclass programme and took part in an Engineering workshop. The pupils created rocket powered cars with help from staff and students from the university using aerodynamic principles. The pupils then tried their cars out and measured their speed to see which group had made the most effective car – the winners were Team Shakespeare who recorded a speed of 72mph with their creation!
The pupils and staff had a fantastic day and would like to thank the Reaching Wider team at Swansea University for organising the visit for us.
