A group of Year 8 pupils are campaigning on behalf of children who are missing out on education due to emergencies such as conflict and natural disaster. The pupils are taking part in the Send My Friend to School campaign, a national campaign that highlights the issue of the millions of children worldwide who are denied access to education.
Bishop Vaughan has been involved with the campaign since 2014 and this year, pupils from 8.1 have taken the lead in campaigning in school. They are delivering assemblies to the rest of the school about the issue and asking pupils to make paper rucksacks with messages highlighting the problem of children missing out on education. They plan to invite the local MP into school to deliver these messages to her and ask her to support the campaign in Parliament.
