Students in Year 12 began the HE+ programme this week.
HE+ is a programme run by Cambridge University to help support and prepare high achieving students in Swansea to apply for top universities, such as Oxford, Cambridge and those in the Russell Group. Students attend regular masterclasses held by teachers from Gower College and other local schools, including staff from BVS. Students will also receive masterclasses from Cambridge University lecturers. The programme also offers residential visits to Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
HE+ is supported by the Seren Network, which is a Welsh Assembly Government scheme to encouage high achieving Welsh students attend top universities. Bishop Vaughan School has been participating in the programme for the past 5 years and many students have successfully applied to top universities as a result. The HE+ programme is one of number of opportunities available to pupils in the school to support their future aspirations.
