Two Year 12 students from BVS visited Cambridge University over the Easter holidays.
The visit was organised by the HE+ scheme, which Bishop Vaughan School participates in. The HE+ scheme, supported by the Seren Network, is designed to support and prepare the most able A Level students make applications to Oxford, Cambridge and other top universities. As part of HE+, a group of Year 12 students have been attending subject masterclasses at Gower College and have received advice on university applications. There are also opportunities to visit Oxford and Cambridge Universities during the year.
During this visit, the pupils stayed at Churchill College and had the opportunity to visit other Cambridge University colleges. They also attended a lecture delivered by Cambridge University staff and attended an application support workshop. Both agreed that the visit was a valuable opportunity and has helped develop their confidence in applying for a top university.
