A new book club for Year 12 pupils was launched this week. The Book ‘n’ Brew club will be meeting every half term, with the purpose of discussing classic literature over a cup of tea. The first book on the reading list is ‘1984’ by George Orwell, with future selections that include literary classics as ‘The Great Gatsby’ by F. Scott Fitzgerald, ‘The Picture of Dorian Grey’ by Oscar Wilde and ‘Great Expectations’ by Charles Dickens. The club will also help pupils identify suitable reading to prepare them for university, as well as develop their discussion and debate skills. Book ‘n’ Brew forms part of the school’s ongoing commitment to supporting pupils in their university aspirations through developing their supercurricular knowledge and skills.
Year 12 pupils who are interested in attending should speak to Mr McKay for more information
