Year 9 pupils were involved in a talent identification event with Welsh cycling. The Welsh Cycling Development team are looking for the next World and Olympic champion. To aid their search they visited Bishop Vaughan and challenged our year 9 pupils to complete a few tests: standing high jump to assess the power in the legs and two exhausting flat out sprints for 6 seconds on a static bike. The results were recorded and the data sent to Sport Wales to be analysed. We now wait to see whether any of our pupils will qualify for additional training, but whatever the outcome the pupils involved had an enjoyable and informative lesson.
