As part of the school’s ongoing commitment to developing opportunities for the most able pupils to achieve their university ambitions, a new programme has been launched for students interested in Science, Technology, Enigneering and Mathematics (STEM) careers.
Named the STEM Russell Club, the initiative is being run in collaboration with Swansea University. Ross Davies, a postgraduate student at the university, is running seminars for Year 12 students. The first topic was animal intelligence and gave students the opportunity to discuss their ideas and opinions, whilst also developing their scientific knowledge.
The first seminar was a great success and was well attended. Another seminar will be scheduled soon – all Year 12 students interested in STEM are welcome to attend.
