Sixth-formers from Bishop Vaughan took a tour around Morriston Hospital’s children’s ward, giving their views on the care being offered and suggesting improvements.
The group were recruited to take part in the 15 Steps Challenge – a project devised to help health professionals improve their patients’ experiences in hospital.
It aims to bring in fresh eyes to examine services from a patient’s perspective has now been adopted with great success in different areas of hospital care by health trusts across England. But this is the first time the challenge has been carried out by service users in ABMU and health board leaders now want to see them more involved in enhancing care.
