Bishop Vaughan has launched a new programme to prepare our pupils to study at top universities.
Named the Russell Club after the Russell Group, which represents the top 24 universities in the UK, the programme teaches pupils topics outside of the curriculum in a university seminar-like environment. Pupils from Years 11 and 12 will discuss the latest academic research as well as wider issues linked with their chosen topic. The seminars will use university-style questions to develop pupils’ critical thinking skills.
The Medicine Russell Club launched today, led by Miss Armstrong-Twigg and Miss Evans of the Science Department. The Humanities and Maths Russell Clubs will begin at the end of this month.
