The Brangwyn Hall formed the prestigious backdrop for Bishop Vaughan’s annual presentation evening which recognises the achievements and progress of our pupils in academic, sporting and musical fields and also those areas of school life reflective of our catholic ethos.
This year’s presentation evening was all the more special as it falls in the 50th anniversary year for Bishop Vaughan Catholic School and our former pupil, Mr Chris Coleman, Manager of the Wales National football team, was our guest speaker. Mr Coleman’s key messages to our students about the importance of self belief, strength of character, overcoming adversity and the need for determination to succeed were inspirational. He spoke fondly of his memories of our school and we thank him for taking the time out of his busy schedule to join us.
We are also grateful to all our other special guests including, amongst others, Mrs Gomes our Chair of Governors, Bishop Tom Burns and Mr Mike Hedges, Assembly Member for Swansea East. The families of current and former pupils who had tragically passed away this year were warmly welcomed to receive and present awards.
The evening was a fitting celebration of the rich tapestry of school life experienced by our pupils and reflects the diversity of their achievements.
The evening was filled with hope and faith. It was an important reaffirmation that the community of Bishop Vaughan is very special indeed.
