Year 7 participated in their first Problem Based Learning Day last week, focusing on the Humanities.
PBL Days take place regularly throughout the academic year and give pupils the opportunity to take part in cross-curricular learning that extends their knowledge and skills in a variety of subjects. This term, Year 7 took part in their Humanities PBL Day, The theme of this day was 'The Welsh Landscape' and pupils learned about the history, culture and geography of Wales by attending trips in Big Pit in Blaenavon, the Brecon Beacons and St Fagan's in Cardiff. Pupils discovered more about the unique aspects of Wales and it's history and people.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed their trips and their excellent behaviour was commented on by staff at the locations visited. There will be further Humanities PBL Days in Year 8 and 9, ensuring the pupils experience a full range of activities by the end of their Key Stage 3 learning.
