What a delight it was to attend the High Sheriff Award Ceremony on Saturday 30th March 2019 at Sketty Hall. The awards ceremony is about recognising the thousands of volunteers throughout West Glamorgan, who give their time freely to organisations and provide a valuable service to their local communities. This includes supporting young people in our uniformed organisations, raising funds for worthy causes and providing much needed services for the most vulnerable. Each year the High Sheriff takes great pleasure to highlight their fantastic hard work and dedication through these awards.
Amongst the many admirable volunteers attending was Bishop Vaughan’s This End Now (TEN) team, made up of a group of Year 11 volunteers who raise awareness of bullying issues and help to tackle them, who won an award in recognition of great and valuable services to the community.
It was such an honour to attend, and see them and many more receive awards for such wonderful contribution to their communities.
