Headteacher's Blog Post - Saturday 29th June 2019

In this busy exam season, my post condenses the many activities of the past month into one post, rather than the usual two!

The main business of the past month has been the all-consuming examination season. We are so impressed to see how hard our pupils are working to fulfil their God-given potential. There have also been many other ways in which they have striven to do this in recent weeks with, for example, a large group of dedicated students setting out on Duke of Edinburgh expeditions (the weather was, fortunately, very kind to them!) and with rehearsals for our annual musical production well under way! This will take place in the second week of July (please contact the office for tickets!) and we are delighted to be working once more with our primary feeder schools to produce this.

At this time of the year, our older pupils’ minds are firmly focused on the celebration of the end of Year 11 and their compulsory schooling years, and there is certainly lots of preparation also in progress for the Prom early next month. We look forward to sharing details of this in our next newsletter!

A group of representatives from the Faith Council and the Liturgy Ambassador teams visited the Sacred Heart Parish yesterday for its patronal feast day. We offered thanks in our prayers for Christ’s love for humanity.

These same pupils, along with further members of their teams, are currently planning for next week’s transition days and Year 6 Welcome Mass. We thank them for their hard work and the ways in which they demonstrate the gospel values in action.
