We were delighted to welcome the vast majority of Year 11 parents to the Revision Readiness Session held on 11th April. The feedback from pupil and their parents has been very positive in relation to the advice and guidance received on revision techniques and exam preparation and all pupils were certainly delighted with their revision gift packs! We wish all of those pupils, who are no doubt ploughing their way through lots of revision in this holiday period, every success with their efforts and with the forthcoming exams. With best wishes too to those preparing for all examinations in the season ahead, be they A-Levels, vocational qualifications, GCSEs or the National Tests. We are keeping each and every one of you in our prayers.
May I remind our parent community too that the consultation regarding school session times is now live, as communicated in my recent letter and as published on this website. Please do take the opportunity to make your views heard; this consultation closes at the end of this month.
As many of you will already be aware, the Easter newsletter has now been published and can be accessed here [insert link]. I am sure that you will agree it represents the vibrant and diverse nature of school life well, and that it makes evident the myriad reasons that we have for being very proud of our pupils!
On this Holy Saturday, as we approach the Easter Vigil this evening, following the moving liturgy of Maundy Thursday and yesterday’s recollection of Christ’s passion and crucifixion, we look forward to the celebration of Christ’s resurrection and the beginning of the Easter season. At this time, then, we give thanks that –
“The veil of darkness Transforms to brightest light
The most dreadful end Becomes the most beautiful beginning
The depths of despair Fade to reveal hope everlasting
And that
The curse of death Is defeated by eternal life.”
We wish all pupils and their families a blessed and holy Easter.
Mrs Pole
