BVS Students Attend Cambridge Summer School

Over the summer holidays, two pupils from Bishop Vaughan School attended a summer school at Christ’s College in Cambridge.

Will and Sofia, who are currently studying in Sixth Form, attended a four day residential school aimed at high ability pupils. Will attended the Medicine strand, whilst Sofia studied Law and History. Both pupils stayed in the historic grounds of Christ’s College, one of the oldest colleges at Cambridge and gained an insight into university life.

Sofia said: “I had a wonderful time in Cambridge as I was able to discover what I want to study at university in the future and got a wider view on subjects like Law and History. I also found out that all the stereotypes about Cambridge are incorrect! I never thought that one day I would be thinking of applying to Cambridge University, but the summer school opportunity proved that anyone that has academic potential can get offers!”
