DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY & COMPUTING
Welcome to the Digital Technology & Computing Department! Within the department pupils with develop skills and knowledge that are essential in the real world and prepares pupils for a range of jobs, even those that may not have even been invented yet. Throughout your time at Bishop Vaughan you will learn to use a range of software to develop skills in digital communication, programming, data handling and graphic and image development. We also provide skills in computational thinking, internet security, cybersecurity as well as understanding how computer systems work. The skills learnt within the subject are transferable across the curriculum and throughout their time in education.
The department has links with outside agencies, such as Technocamps, which often come into school to deliver workshops for pupils to further develop the understanding of computing. We also provide extra curricular activities through lunchtime Minecraft and Coding Club.
