Celebrating Literacy and Numeracy Progress at Bishop Vaughan Catholic School

Literacy Learners

During this term, Year 9 Intervention pupils have read both fiction and non-fiction texts as well as developing their extended writing skills and technical accuracy. All pupils have made good progress and acquired key skills that will stand them in good stead as they embark on their GCSE courses during the next academic year. We wish all our Year 9 pupils much success as they progress through the school and start their GCSE courses.

 ‘Catch Up’ Numeracy

Since the beginning of the academic year, pupils from Years 7, 8 and 9 have been taking part in ‘Catch Up’ Numeracy. The aim of the project is to build on pupils’ problem solving skills whilst also developing other mathematical skills to benefit them across the curriculum. Pupils have been awarded certificates for the excellent progress that they have made since the start of the year.

We wish all of our pupils a Merry Christmas and we look forward to welcoming new pupils onto the project in the new year.
