BVS Pupils Take Part in Hay Scribblers Festival

A group of pupils from Years 9 and 10 participated in the Hay Scribblers Tour last week.

The Scribblers Tour is run by the Hay Festival of Literature and gave pupils the opportunity to meet authors and take part in creative writing workshops. BVS pupils met authors Gemma Cairney and Steven Camden. The pupils also created their own characters and storylines as part of a writing workshop.

The pupils thoroughly enjoyed their day at the Scribblers Tour and their behaviour and enthusiasm was commended by the organisers. Mr McKay, who organised the trip as part of the activities of the Book ‘n’ Brew Reading Club, also praised the pupils who attended: ‘The pupils were a credit to the school. Their enthusiasm and obvious love of literature was also fantastic to see.’

The trip was funded by a grant from the Arts Council of Wales, which the school gratefully acknowledges.
