Bishop Vaughan earns Platinum Status

Bishop Vaughan Catholic School pupils are celebrating being awarded the highest Eco-award – Platinum Status. This means that we have been part of the Eco-school initiative for over 8 years and  the Platinum Award is a milestone achievement that  shows sustainable development and global citizenship is well embedded into daily school life.

The Eco-schools inspector was particularly impressed with the whole school approach and recent developments including the herb garden project, European Comenius exchange project and the numerous local and international charity initiatives at the school.

The hard work and achievements of all teachers, pupils and support staff need to be acknowledged. In particular: Mr Crudge, Ms Davies, Ms Williams, Ms Thomas, Ms Hughes, Mr Walter, Mr Jenkins, Mr Evans, Mr Bean, Mr Dunne Caretaker, Gill Lewis from Aspens, Jan Jones Cleaning Supervisor.

Huw Richards, Bishop Vaughan Eco co-ordinator, said: “This award recognises the support, passion and commitment that our school community gives to promoting ESDGC”. A big well done Bishop Vaughan!
