Attendance Matters

We are immensely proud of our most recent winner of the termly Incentivising Attendance Programme organised by the City and County of Swansea. The programme is run across all schools in the county and provides many opportunities for pupils to be rewarded for their excellent achievement in attendance.

Prizes are awarded to pupils who have achieved attendance of 98% or above and for those who have improved their attendance.  There is also a prize draw for best class and best year group attendance.

Marc Amyr Pagalanan was drawn as the Autumn Term’s winner from the 98-100% attendance award and was presented with a laptop at the Brangwyn Hall on 10thMay.  Well done Marc!

We are grateful for the efforts of the Incentivising Attendance Programme in highlighting the importance of good attendance.  Good attendance at school is essential for all pupils as it increases a child’s chance of achieving their full potential.  As a school we are currently working hard to ensure that attendance is priority and ask that as parents/carers that you support us in achieving our school target.

Any absence affects the pattern of a child’s schooling and regular absence will seriously affect their learning. Any pupil’s absence disrupts teaching routines so may affect the learning of others in the same class.  Ensuring your child’s regular attendance at school is your legal responsibility.  Please contact Mrs EJ Gwyther, Attendance Manager, on extension 267 if you have any concerns or require support with your child’s attendance.
